This Privacy Policy explains how Taly ("Taly," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Taly mobile app and related services. Taly is a parent-facing app for creating personalized children's stories.
Taly is intended for use by parents, guardians, and other adults. Children should use Taly only with permission and supervision from a parent or guardian.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account information, such as your email address, display name, profile photo, and authentication identifiers.
- Child profile information that you choose to provide, such as a child's name, age, interests, favorite topics, preferred language, story style, notes, and profile image.
- Story content and preferences, such as themes, morals, language, story length, generated story text, illustrations, audio, and whether you choose to share a story publicly.
- Subscription and purchase status, such as whether Taly Plus is active. Payment details are processed by app store and subscription providers and are not stored by us.
- Device, usage, analytics, and diagnostic information, such as app events, notification tokens, crash logs, device type, and interactions with app features.
- Communications you send to us, including support requests and feedback.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create, personalize, save, and display stories, illustrations, and narration audio.
- Manage accounts, authentication, child profiles, story libraries, public sharing choices, subscriptions, and restore purchases.
- Send app notifications you enable, such as story reminders, usage updates, and activity notifications.
- Improve app reliability, safety, performance, personalization, and user experience.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, technical issues, and violations of our Terms.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
AI-Generated Content
Taly uses artificial intelligence services to generate stories, images, profile artwork, and narration audio based on prompts and information you provide. This may include child profile details and story preferences. Do not enter sensitive information that is not needed to create a story.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, unexpected, or unsuitable in some cases. Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing generated content before sharing it with a child or publishing it.
Public Sharing
Taly may let you publish a story to a shared feed. Publicly shared stories may include the story title, excerpt, theme, moral, language, generated artwork, audio preview, and related story metadata. Child profile details are not shared by default, except where you explicitly choose a sharing option that allows child-related information such as a child name.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party service providers to operate Taly. These may include Firebase and Google Cloud services for authentication, database, storage, functions, messaging, analytics, and crash reporting; Google Gemini services for AI generation; RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management; and Apple App Store or Google Play for purchases and payment processing.
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their independent privacy practices.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Taly, maintain your account and story library, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may delete certain content in the app. Some information may remain in backups, logs, or records for a limited period.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or object to certain uses of your personal information. You can update or delete some information in the app. You may also disable notifications through your device settings.

Children's Privacy
Taly is designed for parents and guardians, not for unsupervised use by children. We do not knowingly ask children to create accounts or directly submit personal information without parent or guardian involvement. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Use
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of Taly after an update means you accept the updated policy where permitted by law.
